Recently I experienced a heart attack. I’ve had one surgery where they put in a stent, and now I’m waiting to have a heart valve replacement.
It all started in 2005 when I had my first heart attack. My mother was dying and I was going through a divorce, and the stress gave me a heart attack. The doctors did a great job with the open heart surgery, and I recovered just fine. They did a number of by-passes to reroute the blood supply to the heart. But somehow, after the heart attack, one of my valves wouldn’t close properly, and the doctors informed me that I now had a heart murmur, because one of the valves leaked and you could hear it.
Fourteen years later, now, the part of my heart which has to pump blood through the leaky valve couldn’t stand the strain, and so I had another heart attack. The stent repaired one of the blood vessels that was rerouted back in 2005, and the valve replacement surgery will take care of the leaky valve and stop the murmur. They’ve come a long ways since 2005, and now they don’t have to do open heart surgery to replace a valve. Thanks be to God!
We all know that our heart is the most important muscle in our entire body, and that it should be treated respectfully. This experience has taught me much about how to feed our heart and blood vessels with the nutrients they need to simply keep us alive and feeling fine.
In my office I have a computer program which allows me to listen to your heart sounds with a special stethoscope, and record them on my computer. There are at least 10 nutritional deficiencies which will show up on this type of heart graph. So by recording your heart sounds we will know what your heart needs nutritionally in order to become and to stay healthy.
There are certain substances your heart and blood vessels simply cannot do without, that is, if you want them to work effectively and efficiently.
Wheat Germ Oil
Wheat Germ Oil is essentially Vitamin E, and Vitamin E helps your heart and all the muscles in your body to use the oxygen they get from the blood stream more efficiently, so they can get the job done using less energy. Standard Process Vitamins has Wheat Germ Oil in capsules, and it is very affordable.
The best herb for the heart is Hawthorn. But if you are taking medication either for your heart or your blood pressure, then you shouldn’t take Hawthorn, because your medication and the herb won’t do well together.
Wheat Germ is not Wheat Germ Oil. They’re 2 separate substances. Wheat Germ comes in flakes and you can get it at the grocery store. We recommend Wheat Germ manufactured by Bob’s Red Mill, and is simply called ‘Wheat Germ’. Wheat Germ has Vitamin B in it, whereas Wheat Germ Oil has Vitamin E in it.
The B vitamin group will help keep your cholesterol levels normal, so the cholesterol doesn’t clog up your arteries. Speaking of arteries – Garlic, Wheat Germ Oil, Hawthorn, and Kelp will all help keep your blood vessels healthy.
Omega-3s Fatty Acids
Omega-3s are important for your heart structure. You can get that one as a meal from Bob’s Red Mill also at the grocery store called ‘Flax Seed Meal’. Myself, I put the Wheat Germ and the Flax Seed Meal in applesauce and eat them that way.
Standard Process Vitamins
Most of these supplements could be purchased through Standard Process (request patient direct code). There is also a product called Cardio-Plus, which has everything nutritionally that the heart muscle itself needs in order to repair itself.
You’d want to take Wheat Germ Oil, Hawthorn, and Cardio-Plus, IF you were NOT on HEART MEDICATION. If you were on heart medications, then you can safely take Wheat Germ Oil and Cardio-Plus.
Cholesterol is always an issue with heart health. But you can take care of that and not have to take cholesterol lowering drugs by taking either Cholaplex and Soybean Lecithin from Standard Process, or by taking Wheat Germ and Lecithin.
If you have any questions, please either call, text, or email me. My telephone number is 603-573-5063.
In about 3 weeks, I should be back in business at the office. Until then I’m taking lots of Wheat Germ Oil, Wheat Germ, Hawthorn, Cardio-Plus, Flax Seed Meal, and a few other substances.
Live long in health and Nature,
